The Toiyabe House

The Toiyabe House is a project I completed for my Architecture II class in my Junior year at the Advanced Technologies Academy. The design challenge asked to design a vacation chalet on Mount Charleston in Nevada. I decided to focus my design on bringing the outside in.

The home won the Honorable Mention award from the Las Vegas chapter of the AIA.

Bringing the outside in

The home focused on opening space up, and accomplished this by utilizing large amounts of deck space, floor to ceiling windows throughout, and neutral tones throughout. This allowed the occupant to feel like they were outside, even when they were in the kitchen.
